Nationally 1 in 4 women experience domestic violence in their lifetime

Domestic violence is one of the primary causes of homeless for women and their children in the United States. According to the National Network to End Domestic Violence, between 22 and 57% of women and children are homeless at some point in their lives due to domestic violence.

While over 5,500 victims are served by local DV programs on a given day in California, over 1,000 service requests go unmet due to reduced funding for these programs.
